Something that squared with me is the importance of developing Social Emotional Intelligence in my students.

Three points to remember are:
We are supported (by admin & other teachers) and we (teachers) are not alone.
Setting boundaries early on is important.
To foster a love of learning in our students (and teachers!)

Something still going around and around is making meaningful entry points into areas of study so that my students are connected and stay engaged.

Something that squared with me was our discussion about the integration of the multiple intelligences in the classroom and how this theory prepares children to be profound thinkers as well as 'seers' of the bigger picture.

Three points to remember are related to the school philosophy: the importance of being passionate leaders who involve students in thought provoking activities and lessons while promoting responsability, flexibility, curiosity and independence.

Something going around and around in my head concerns the importance of promoting social emotional intelligence within the classroom

Something that squared with me was how much the act of deconstructing and reworking the materials helped to make them more concrete and memorable. The activity of the making the found poem really made us connect with the school's philosophy and choose the aspects that we found personally important.

Three points to remember:
1) Integrating the school's philosophy of multiple intelligences in all aspects of learning.

2) Establishing clear bounds for parents and students from the very beginning. This well set a precedent and allow for an appropriate relationship with students and parents alike.

3) As an associate teacher, I will need to really focus on the social-emotional development of the children in the classroom and during unstructured play. I will be able to make insights into what individual children need and relate this to the lead teacher.

something that squared with me--the need for awareness of the social/emotional levels and capabilities of children and its impact

three points to remember--our school is concerned with the practice of:
council, the impact of multi-cultural studies and the encouragement of child participation in the festival

something that goes round and round in my head--the continued challenge to use varied approaches to help children invest in new studies as well as discover their special interests
